Melvyn has been on TB before too, about the ill. downloads of his book, I think Wilser started a thread and he just happened to show up. It was 2 years ago or so.....

The one i'd like to hear from as well about ill. downloads is Martin Koch....

I haven't opened mine in a while, but I had designs in there dating to 97!

Nice display, there, Mike!

I still have the copy of "Make Your Own Electric Guitar" that I bought through the MIMF way back in 2000... I just re-read it the other day. It's so easy to read and informative, one of the best guitar-related purchases I've ever made.

I actually laughed a little when someone suggested these books to me (here on TB btw). Then I built my first bass. Lol. Then I bought them, and instantly built a better bass. Well, maybe not instantly, but the fact is that they are a very worthwhile investment.

Yup....looks like Rip has the newfangled second version, unlike some of us "dinosaurs"...

Well I'm afraid I don't own a copy of Melvyn's book, although if I knew he was an aviation enthusiast I probably would have bought his book instead. Oh, how I'd love to fly a Sopwith Camel.

Since this picture was taken I've finished reading Building electric guitars, Understanding wood, Fine Woodworking's essential power tools, and An island to oneself. All great books.

Yeah, that's the one I've got... I'd definitely buy a 3rd edition if he ever publishes it.

Great interview, about the book though, sad to say I've never read it, everything I've learned about building has been trial and error and what I found using the Internet Google Machine.

A few years back, I borrowed one from the library. Before starting to build, I bought one.
