Hi There,

I wonder why you can't see any neck-throught bass guitar with maple fretboard.

What is the thread about it.

I am really curious to learn the thread.

Thanks

If you look hard enough, you'll find some!

I think this search is too hard for anyone because they are not a basic models that you can get from the market. Off course you can have any kind of woods as fret board on th NT but my question is based on general demand.
There must be a reason for that.

IMO, it's because a maple FB is more work to finish and mass production companies don't want the added to incur hassle/expense/work for a stock COTS product ... and why would they when they can offer an alternative wood that is less labor intensive to bring to market, and no customers are complaining loud enough to be heard

maple FBs are much easier finished when you can polish the finish away from the body with the neck detatched ... and you eliminate the risk of marring the body finish in the process

all the best,

R

Dear R,
I agreed with you that maple need to be refinished and that will cost extra but even the expensive bass makers they don't seems to offer this configuration as an option to any NT basses but they do on BO basses and ..."why" is my question.
I don't want to give names of those makers but all of them are known to be the hi-quality makers.
Thanks anyway though.
