Don't really have much to add, but I finished a walnut body in tung-oil and like mentioned, it's a pretty forgiving process. I managed to scratch the body between coats, just had to sand out the scratch and recoat.

Speaking of which, I only used straight tung-oil, 7 coats, and initially it was pretty easy to dent. I put a pretty gnary dent in mine while doing the electronics, and was able to fix it like above.

I did the body about 4-5 years ago, and it was initially pretty light, but it's since darkened over the years.
