optic fiber marker's for the neck

Does anyone have any experience to share regarding optic fiber threads running thru the neck for side light markers..Need a heads up on the subject for a project. Need info on mfg's.

Not sure about the US but in the UK unjacketed fiber is quite expensive (£1/$2 a meter!) i found that a better option was to buy a fiber optic xmas tree off evilbay and strip the optic fiber from that
