I should have some updates soon. I just got some templates for these two bodies and I'm on holidays in a few days so ill have time to put them to good use.

As promised... update pics

Walnut top/maple back is routed to size, has edges radius end and chamfered and the control cavity roughed out.





I've learned that I pretty much suck at gluing tops on. Something always seems to happen and I end up not getting the centers to line up. This was no exception. I ended up putting two layers of veneer on just for fun.



The maple top/walnut back neck through is also slowly moving along.





I don't know if it will show up in the pic, but I added a layer of veneer along the edges of the wings where they will get glued onto the neck.

Bloodwood fingerboard is glued and trimmed.

Both the fingerboard and top have the same double veneer.

The matching veneer dividers are a nice unifying element.

The bloodwood looks really porous in the last photo from your previous post -- is it, or is it just the photo?

It's not. That photo was taken before I started to polish the fingerboard. What you're seeing are the lines left from my thickness sander. The second pic in post #30 is what it looks like after using my RO sander and 220 grit paper.

Do I go with black plastic, white plastic, black mother of pearl, white mother of pearl or Paua? I have all of them in 3/32".
