Having said that I guess it doesn't hurt to consider any prior formulas/philosophies and develop your own after that. (few 'hard' rules) |

Wood species does not make a lot difference if stiffness and weight are similar.
My formula for cf skin is to add thick enough skin to make the bass stiff enough to hold the string tension. If I made many prototypes I could perhaps find the structure that would be the best in my opinion. Now I think I'm happy with this structure as it's one the stiffest lightweight basses I've made. Goal accomplished. Acoustically this bass has a strong and clear sound so that's also what I was after. And all this with just pure luck (and some experience from my previous cf skinned necks). |

I've tried this cf skinning in few necks and have all the gear needed to make cf skinning. An hour here and there and the bass is finished. Thanks to mrs MPU who has been very understanding with me and this hobby. Now I have to stay out of my shop for a while
The weight is about 2,85kg. It sure feels light. |

I'm sure there was a lot of planning and background effort that went into it we didn't see, but still a very efficient build for such a unique and great looking instrument! |
