piezo under bridge question

Can anyone tell me how a piezo under bridge in an acoustic (bass) guitar is attatched? I'm building an electric upright bass, so I want to use piezo elements.
My idea is to route a "trench" in the body under the bridge so a piezo element like this:

can be inserted flush with the body under the (upright) bridge.

an acoustic guitar piezo is a thin film installed between the wood bridge and the plastic saddle.

peizo elements work with pressure, so i wouldn't route out a flush mount for it - it may not exert enough pressure for the piezo to work. some people have had a lot of success with using radio-shack piezo buzzers. basically round piezo disks instead of the strip form.
