Why not go make a visit? People here could give you their opinions, but if you go (preferably with a parent or adult friend who can help you see through an B.S. that may result) you can certainly make up your own mind more confidently.

Contact them and request a tour of the campus and any other things they may have. Go with your parents or other person interested in this craft and check it out for yourself. Should be a very informitive outing for you.

Yes I highly recommend them. The teachers are top notch and you gain a huge amount of knowledge by the time you graduate. I went there with no woodworking skills and by the time I graduated I had built 3 instruments and I now own a small repair shop in brooklyn.

I graduated from the last class that went through, and I think that's been the best choice I've made in my education thus far (I came straight out of high school). The teachers there really know their stuff and do a good job of teaching you what they know.

Ray Holt went there, and went to Benedetto Guitars after graduation. That's of course hugely to Ray's credit, but also if it weren't also a decent school I doubt he would have been able to learn enough to do that.

i graduated from RV in the spring '08 class. i had absolutly NO woodworking experience before hand, but the staff there takes the time to really help you out. take a visit to see for yourself. i researched ALOT before picking a school and it always came back to RV. theyre the best in the world.
