Powder coated bass?

Just wondering.... has anyone tried powder coating on a bass?

I always liked the finishes on the EBMM SUBs, and they seem like they might be.

Just not into glossy.

Isn't that an electrically applied (like plating) process to get the powder to stick, and then must be baked at high temps.? IIRC, the temps are high enough that aluminium has a lower temp process than steel to avoid damaging it. Leaving the electrical question alone, the temps alone likely prohibit it. Finish in satin or flat, or, for that REALLY rough finish, lightly sandblast or shot-peen the wood before finishing.

Interesting, I had no idea about the high temp requirements. I just had to ask.

It that similar finish comes in spray cans at Ace Hardware. I also think that Rhino Lining(Truck bed lining company) makes a spray product.

That works on metal only since the powder is magnetic and stick on metal then is baked to finish it like a basic for painting, and yeah you have to put it on the oven hohoho +valid redundance?+ :P

Exactly the surface to be coated has to be conductive, a negative charge is ran though the object and the powder is positively charged so they attracted to each other. To the OP with paint tech the way it is to day you should be able to find a paint that will give you any look you want.
