Precious Bodily Fluids and Tung Finishes

Sign in to disble this ad
A couple of my bands have signed contracts with summer festivals here in the Midwest US. We're talking massive Gulfstream heat and humidity.

This will be my first use of a tung oiled bass at these things. Based last years experiences, copious amounts of sweat will roll onto to the bass. I bring at least 4 wrist sweatbands to these things.

Is this sweat on the tung-oiled wood something that requires special care after such a gig???......(like adding more tung oil or whatever???)

I always wipe down my basses after every use, but those are poly finished.

I realize you don't "sweat test" your work before you deliver it. But I figured you might have some valuable advice.

Thanks so much in advance for any guidance!
