I am sorry if there is another spot for this kind of post but I couldnt find it. This is my 3rd-ish bass that I have built (I built my second and third at the same time). I learned how to do it from youtube, mainly Wil Ramirez videos. I would love some feed back.

I was a metal worker before. Bass building was my first wood working endeavor. Youtube is really helpful.

I often wonder what the appeal is of a body that extends a third of the way up the neck.

its just a sinlge cut design, its "supposed" to stiffen the neck and junk but i like it purly for the cool astetics of it

My theory is that it increases the resonant frequency of the neck, so that the lower (more audible) frequencies don't have sustain/amplitude reduced by the energy going into vibrating the neck rather than the strings...

Yes it is multiple peices of walnut. I had a some 2" x 2" x whatever peices. I resawed them and glued them up. I try not to waste any wood.
