A question about Rosewood

What type of rosewood should be used for fretless bass fingerboards? What are the pros and cons of the different varieties? Thanks .......tom

i can't think of a species of rosewood that hasn't been used for a fb. having personal experience with indian, brazilian, honduran, and cocobolo, i find the biggest difference is appearance. my preference is cocobolo, but it's a less traditional choice.
