Removing frets on Geddy Lee jazz

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi - I was wondering if it is possible to remove the frets from a geddy lee jazz bass which has a neck with a polyurethane finish and black binding. I'm just thinking that the finish and binding might interfere with the process? Does anyone have any experience removing frets from a neck like this? Thanks

I would take it to a guitar tech. Just my $.02

Take it to a trusted repair guy. He can do it.

I'd get a replacement fretless neck and paint the headstock black. Leave the stock geddy neck alone...

i would be worried about something going wrong with such a thin neck like that. Like the wrong torque could break it in half....but thats just me. =)
