Beautiful stuff, as always, Robbie! Personally, I can't fathom how to even begin playing anything with an aircraft-carrier neck like that, but that doesn't mean it's not a lovely build!

Hi All,

Few more pics for ya all!

Claro Walnut Bkmatched top for Davids top, its gunstock grade and looks real nice. Also had time to trim the Ziricote fretboard, will re-trim soon for the 4mm limba binding.

Enjoy!

Hi All,

Quick update from the UK at Rim Towers! Got some more work done on David's 8 string neck, binding all sorted and Walnut cap on headstock with pinstripe detail on the side of neck and headstock.

More soon,

Hi All,

Quick update on Davids 8 string, headstock is now drilled out for the hipshot tuners and side markers to go in soon. Will be sending the neck off for " Rim " laser inlay at the 12th fret.

More soon,

Robbie.

Beautiful work robbie, its nice to see more luthiers in the uk (not that i am one... )
Interesting neck wood combo, and i'm loving the ziricote Captain
One question, will the fretboard be extended all the way to the pickup and act like a ramp? I don't know if that's possible to do but i think it looks nice Cheers.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for the kind words, glad you are liking the build. About the fretboard and pickup location, the board has 28 frets but im still going to have around 50mm gap between the end of the board and pickup. I want to see as much of the figured top as possible, looks like that monster pickup will take up most of the body lol!

Very cool. Any particular reason you didn't use your signature slotted headstock?

No such thing as a flat radius.
