I can allways count on you being around on the talkbass, for sure I'll get the sketches up soon. It's gonna be similar to garry's Miller 5 string but with the RIM touch.

Looks nice so far. But I've never been a fan of the angled tuner look.

To Jongor,

I use 1.5mm Dyed black tuilpwood veneer,I get from a local supplier and it come in at ruffly 14inches wide per leaf.Ive got to order some more soon.Basicly I cut the lengths for the neck and then glue them between the stringers for the neck in my neck clamp

nice design ... if it were me, I'd beef the lower horn some to balance the 'weight' of the other contours

all the best,

R

Hi All,

I slightly reshape the bottom horn today and this could be the final design,

This is going to be one sweet bass!
That redwood top is stunning!!! It has a real fluid look to the grain. Beautiful!

Overall, I like the body shape but there is something about the lower horn that doesn't sit right with me but I can't put my finger on it. The cutaway seems too tightly spaced against the neck or the horn curves back toward the neck too much (or something like that).

I'm sure once the body is contored it will look fine to my eyes.

Its been interesting trying to get this shape to sit right,Im sure once we get the body in the flesh and get the radiuses on it,it will take shape.

Cheers for all the help guys on the body,I need to get on with the fretboard next week.

Come on England!

Robbie.
