This is the worst news ive heard in days; prayers to his family.
he had a great build (one of the best of the bunch, check it out!!) was focussed and motivated throughout, it really did seem medicinal for him as we watched him put it together.
donating blood seems like somthing positive, that (almost) everyone is capible of; those people need you to go down there, whatever your reasoning at the time is.

I was inspired by Kevin's build and serendipitously discovered that he was the bass player in the production of JC Superstar that I'd attended a few days earlier in the summer of 2011. We chatted a bit on here and, as I live nearby, I had hoped to meet him one day.

RIP.

Such a shame to hear. The bass he made is lovely, and its so nice to think he found solace building and inventing.

RIP Kevin, and prayers and condolonces to his family.

And for all the rest of us - DO SOMETHING TO FIGHT CANCER, NOW OR ASAP. Donate to the American Cancer society, or find a benefit and offer to play a set there. If you can't find one organize one. Or, as the OP requested, give blood. DO SOMETHING!

Do it in memory of Kevin, my little sister Celie, and everyone else you know that has been taken by this despicable disease. Let's stop saying goodbye way too early to those we love, or even those we were only fortunate enough to get to know a little through TalkBass.

So sad to hear this.

Here's to a talented builder with a very inspirational outlook on life. We're only here for a little while; it sounds like Kevin made the most of it. Rest in Peace Sir.

Prayers and condolences to his family and friends.

Thank you Paul for letting us know.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I really admired Kevin's outlook and was lucky to chat with him a bit about his build here when I gave him a preamp for it. I'll be thinking of Kevin the next time I donate blood.

My condolences to Kevin's family and friends.

Prayers to his family. RIP.
That fretless 5 he built was one of the best builds I ever saw on this site.
The League of Extraordinary Luthiers should commemorate this man in a tribute build someday.
