screw loose

my strap buttor has stareted ripping itself out of the wood. is there anyway to fix this without getting annother bigger screw? fill with wood glue? something else?

insert a match in to that hole, and try to screw it again, tighter.

matches arent permanent fixes. I say get some Pine, a chisel or a flathead screwdriver and break off some thin strips. Put a dot of wood glue in the hole, then start shoving the strips of wood into the hole. Get it nice and tight, cut off all the excess and then screw in the screw. Should be like new and wont come out like a match does.

get a longer screw...the minute i get my basses, i go out and buy the same thickness screw, except 1 or 2 inches longer and use that instead
