Question Squier Deluxe Active Bass modifying

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm not sure if this belongs in the Luthier's Corner, but anyways. I wanted to know: how can I make THIS pickguard and THIS preamp fit into THIS bass??? The pickguard is mainly for aesthetics, and the preamp is to boost the tone to the max . Any responses appreciated.

I don't think the SX pickguard will be a good fit as the SX necks are a bit wider at the heel -leaving a good sized gap. The preamp looks like it should just drop in.

Thanks for (finally) replying. I should've specified more: could I make *any* jazz pickguard fit in there? And about the preamp, I was wondering if I would have to drill the holes to make the bigger, or fill them up, or whatever... Thank anyway!

Not happening, any of it. Maybe the pre if you take it off of the control plate. Just buy an SX for $90 and put the pre in that.

There's a chance you'll get some more suggestions on the pre if this thread were in the pickups/electronics forum. Let me know if you'd like it moved and I'll take care of it.

The pickguard is a four-string pickguard, so that's a no.
