Squier II neck vs Fender '78

Sign in to disble this ad
i am a beginner bassist, budding towards novice. i was comparing my squier II neck to my bro-in-laws 78 fender neck. most notable difference is the curvature of the fingerboard. mine appears to be much flatter than his. is this due to in whole to the fact that mine is a cheap substitute? what is the reason for the curvature? i've been playing my bass for a couple of years now and wanted to get a new body (thinking warmoth) and hoping that my neck would fit to save money, hence the comparison. should i just part with the extra $$$ to get a new neck? thanks for your input.

Different necks have different fingerboard radii, everyone will have a different preference on this spec. If you aren't happy with the neck, look for a new one.
