Stripping a nitro finish

I have a body that's finished in what I believe to be nitrocellulose. I want to strip the color off completely. What could I use to do this? Somebody told me acetone would work, I just want to confirm before I do anything...

Lacquer thinner and a green scotchbrite pad are my favorites. Comes off very easy.

Citrus Strip. CHeap. Safe. Won't kill you, pets or children.

Works amazingly well.

Lacquer will come off if you stare at it real hard. Seriously any stripper will work.
