How did you like working with it? Did you do them flat sawn or 1/4? Laminate or 1 piece. What are your thoughts on the subject?.........Thanks........tom

KILLER with purpleheart sandwiched in the middle
something about the green/cream and the purple is visually awesome
but as matt stated its not tough enough by itself hence why I say purpleheart looks good with it.

I too was worried about the stiffness of the limba so I used the 1/4" x 1/8" graphite bars from LMI. It may have been a little over kill though because I don't have any tension on the truss rod right now to get the relief I want. I will say that the neck profile on this neck is a a little chunkier than most people like, so that is responsible for some of the extra stiffness.

It also might negate the need for a finish. bear in mind that this is purely speculation as my experience is currently(i stress this word) non existant, I thought it may be just the solution.

Acrylized wood is way stiffer, harder (and heavyer) and can be used without any finish. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
