Thunderbird/Fenderbird project

Okay i've been wanting to build a bass for a while and have taken a liking to Thunderbirds... the only problem is that I don't particularly like the headstock of them and there aren't many 5 string Tbirds out there... then just today i saw hope! i saw the mighty Fenderbird! so i was wondering about if i used just the body template from here and used a cheap-ish Fender P neck... also i saw this one guy use a 4 string neck and just replace the nut, add a tuner on the lower side of the headstock and add a string tee to make it a 5 string neck.

So do you think this might work? Also if you have any advice it would be greatly appreciated

think your thinking about Ric5.

I got the same idea going on too. something similar to Ric5's fenderbird (5 string maple neck and clear coated body).

All you need is a Tbird body and a P neck, a cheap epi body and maybe a mighty mite P neck should fit. then ask Ric5 for more info on his 5 string mod and the rest would be normal apart from maybe the PUPS as you might need to get custom ones that work for 5 strings and only take up as much space as the 4 string humbucker.

Should be easy but finding a Tbird body over here in the UK is proving to be a pain for me and i would rather not buy the full thing as money doesnt grow on trees esp. if the neck is going to be useless to me.
