Veneer

Do you guys use thin veneers to make contrast lines in bodies/necks? I was wondering if you could get a strong glue joint on a veneer or if it would be compromising the strength of the neck if I were to put a couple veneers in it.

Also, for those who do neck-throughs and glue the body wings on separately, do you put any pegs in to make a stronger glue joint for mounting the wings or is it just straight-up glue?

- People use veneer lines all the time. There was one bass this year with something like 67 layers in the neck.

- People use just glue for body wings.

not really 'fingerjoint' but sheldon dingwall uses a wavy surface on the mating faces of bodies (don't know if it's all of them). It's pressumably to get more glue surface.
