| To my knowledge, at least here in the UK anyway, we have stuff called "wet n dry ". Its kinda dark grey looking, not caramel coloured like carpentry sandpaper.
Basically, wet n dry can be used either wet ( you dip it in water ) or dry. Spookily enough, thats why it got its name.
Using it wet will get a finer finish, and if you're at the stage of already having the last lacquer on the bass, then you will be needing a fine grade of WnD. Probably 1200 grade. And use it wet.
