Wet sanding

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got my bass body sprayed with laquer and it just has to be wet sanded and buffed. I'm pretty sure the buffing will be easy to figure out, but I don't know much about wet sanding. What grit paper should I use and how exactly is the sanding process "wet?"

To my knowledge, at least here in the UK anyway, we have stuff called "wet n dry ". Its kinda dark grey looking, not caramel coloured like carpentry sandpaper.

Basically, wet n dry can be used either wet ( you dip it in water ) or dry. Spookily enough, thats why it got its name.

Using it wet will get a finer finish, and if you're at the stage of already having the last lacquer on the bass, then you will be needing a fine grade of WnD. Probably 1200 grade. And use it wet.

Someone will correct me if i'm wrong
