| What to use under laquer to enhance figure

What would be best used on a piece of flamed redwood to really bring out the figure before I lacquer? Is it common or even needed to use something under lacquer? I've used Deft lacquer on the last few basses with great results but the wood used in those projects had little figure to speak of so there was nothing to really enhance. Ideas would be much appreciated. |
