| | | | I will be stripping the paint off, i cant stand sunburst.
Will it be easier to identify once all the paint is off ?
In terms of weight its hard to say without the neck on, but i think its medium in weight, its not light, but its not heavy.
I was thinking Adler.
Ibanez Silver series from the 70's is a jap lawsuit copy, i don't know if that helps ?
Thanks for the help so far guys. |

Can you take a pic of the whole body?

based on this, I'd say you have a Maple topped Agathis body. looking closely at the image you provided, it's easy to see the veneer line just below the top surface. this is why you have two distinct grain patterns on your bass body
all the best,

At first I was thinking the light color on top was paint. I have seen plenty of instruments made like this. Agathis / Philippine Mahog The stuff of pallets, door skins and pacific rim furniture.

Thanks for the help so far guys. | If it's veneer it may be very thin, so you'll have to be very careful to not sand through it to the ugly wood underneath. |

| | | Thanks guys
Just one other thing. I'm looking to strip the finish(i hate sunburst, and even more so 3 tone sunburst ) Will i ruin the veneer at all if i use paint stripping chemicals ? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
