Will this Wood Glue Work? 1 Attachment(s) It's Weldwood Resorcinol Glue. Going to use it on cocobolo that was recently identified here on talk bass. Just wanted to make sure this stuff will do the trick. |
Look, I'm guessing it would, but it seems like total overkill to me. Why do you need something so heavy duty? Titebond or titebond2-3 would be more than enough and much easier to work with. |
I'd echo that. With Cocobolo and other oily woods, you might want to do a quick sanding on the mating surfaces and wipe it with acetone before gluing and clamping, but it shouldn't be a problem. Plastic Resin glue like Weldwood is more for bent laminations where rigidity and creep are factors. I'd save it for something else and just use TB3. |
Cool, thanks guys! |
Seems like a very super glue, that has been mostly replaced by epoxy - at least as far as wikipedia says. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resorcinol_glue |
