your carving work

I have really started getting into carving and wanted to see some everyones work. I am espcially amazed by walnut. It always has amazing grain, so you just "dig around until you find a grain pattern you like, and make it flow with the feel, the look, and the rest of the contouring. Id love to hear about the method used to make it, tools used, how long it took, and so on. Any tips about the styles you use? What are some other enjoyable woods to carve?
I will put up some of my in progress stuff when i get new batteries for the camera.
