The Artosphere Festival Orchestra
The resident orchestra will perform two concerts under the baton of Music Director Corrado Rovaris in Baum Walker Hall at Walton Arts Center as the premier ensemble for the Artosphere Festival in 2012.
A third outreach concert, will be presented in a location
TBD, but away from the Walton Arts Center.
Artosphere Festival Orchestra musicians will also participate in various, outreach mini-concerts, impromptu 5 to 10 minute performances in unexpected locations, and in more traditional chamber music concerts throughout Northwest Arkansas.
Festival Dates: June 13, 2012 through June 22, 2012
Travel Dates: June 12, 2012 and June 23, 2012
Orientation: June 12, 2012
Concert Dates: June 15, 18, & 22
Compensation: Each musician will receive a $1,600 stipend for participating in the Artosphere Festival Orchestra.
Section Principals and Concertmaster will receive additional bonus compensation
Venue: Walton Arts Center, Fayetteville, Arkansas
Travel: Travel to and from Northwest Arkansas is the responsibility of each participating musician.
Additional cartage is available for bass, cello, tuba, and harp, and will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Lodging and meals: Lodging and breakfast plus a meal allowance of $300 as a prepaid Visa will be provided for all musicians from outside the region.
Musicians selected to play in the Artosphere Festival Orchestra may also participate in the Artosphere Chamber Music series, as well as learning and outreach programs.
All musicians should audition for the Artosphere Festival Orchestra individually, and may also audition as part of a chamber music ensemble.
