I just wanted to let folks know, who are interested that there will be a bass audition in Spain, with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Castilla Y Leon.
They've contracted a new conductor who is assistant with the L.A. Phil
Lionel Bringiuer, and the pay is quite decent for European standards:
roughly 2000 Euros a month after taxes. You're paid a bonus in June and December, roughly double a normal pay check. You have summer free from july to late August, and when there are reductions in the section you may have at least 1-2 months free during the season. You may also request permits to take auditions a certain number of times a year, though you will not be paid for this time. Tenure comes after 6 months.
If you come from the States, it is possible to borrow an instrument, though the Orchestra instruments are generally mediocre.
The audition is for Primero Tutti, which is like Assistant CO-principle.
a new position. The audition will be held around October.
Just to let you know! Good Luck
