Does anyone know when the BSO audition is? Or is it already over? Did they declare no winner?

Lightbulb Uh...

Joe Hearne has (I believe) the longest tenure of anyone in the whole BSO - he's already in the orchestra, and has been since 1962. Maybe he'll be the next one to open up a spot for us to fight over?

Todd Seeber

Not at all - Todd is fairly young, maybe in his mid 40s.

So who is in the semi-finals?

I know that Evan Halloin, Charlie Nilles, and Paul DeNola (from the National Symphony) made it through.

They advanced four people, and I can only remember the three that you mentioned. Who's the other guy?

I would have thought that Paul would have been an auto-advance given that he's section bass in a top ICSOM group. It is interesting how different top orchestras have different policies about that sort of thing.

The four that advanced from last Monday are Brian Perry, Evan Halloin, Charlie Nilles, and Paul DeNola. Ira Gold was automatically advanced due to his previous BSO audition, and I heard that Charles Carleton was also invited. Should be exciting.

Wow, that's an incredibly good selection of players.
