anybody have any info on what the job is like?
have they held auditions recently?

Good orchestra-I visited Brooklyn in the 70's. Most of my work takes me to Manhattan now as it did then. Do they still play at the hall near that tall bank? Met some of the guys at the time-I think a guy conducting was named Amram or something like that. I collect all my programs, can't find that one.

my old teacher at NYU is the principal double bass of the Brooklyn Phil. It's a pretty cool job and they often do very cool collaborations with newer artists in very non-classical ways. For example, he gave my gf and I tickets to see Joan Collins perform with them and it turned into a funk/soul show. It was pretty cool. As for auditions, I don't believe they're having any anytime soon, but if they are, I'll certainly be the first to know....
