ISB Competition

Who else is competing in the ISB Competitions this summer?
I'll be competing in the 15-18 division, I was just wondering who else was.

So your working up the Carmen Fantasy? that's a beast of a piece. I thought about it momentarily, but quickly realized that ISB is during the week of my graduation, which really sucks.

That's too bad.
Yeah, it's a fantastic piece to play! I was really happy that that was the required piece this year.

Yeah its one of the first pieces I'm gonna ask to play when I start college, but undoubtedly my teacher will suggest something more manageable. It is one of those pieces that I dream about playing at some point in the future.

I'll be there for the 15-18 division. It's my first year to go to the convention, so I'm really looking forward to it! How many are usually in the competition?

As for calibass' question: This website should suffice.

It'll be my first year going to the convention as well. I was wondering about the same thing.... I know of four (including you and myself), but that's as much as I know (and I'm sure there's probably a lot more than that!).. But I think it'll be a really exciting competition! I've rarely done competitions where other bass players are involved, so it'll be a really good experience!

Congratulations guys, Louisa, I can't wait to hear your Bottesini performance in a few weeks. Sorry I won't be here when you play it with the RPO : (

Haha it's ok! I'll bring you a ticket at the next studio class (or at the ESSO concert tonight if I see you).

For the 15-18 division it's the Carmen Fantasy by Proto, I'm not sure what's required for other divisions though.
