Summer 09

Hey, Where are all of you thinking of applying for this summer?

I applied to Domaine, Sarasota, Lucerne and NOI. I'm really hoping to go to Lucerne because it sounds like an awesome festival.

I was just accepted to the orchestra and opera orchestra for the Bayreuth Easter Festival, so we'll see if I'll be able to go to that one.

NOI and Domaine for me, how tough is the competition for NOI? I know a bassist who went there last year, and think I could possibly play as well as him(he's a beast though, so I'lll definitely have to be as prepared as possible). ISB is always a possiblility too, but I'm just trying to think about being getting into NOI and not being rejected lol.

Oh whoops, forgot that I can't apply for NOI because I won't be in town for the auditions... Oh well. Have fun with that, all. I'll replace it with something else.

Yes, less competition already!

I've always thought NOI was a pretty competitive festival... Speaking of Competitive Festivals... I thought I would add NRO to the list. I forgot about that one and looked at my calender yesterday and saw that I had it marked down.

What is NOI? I tried Googling it and really couldn't come up with it.
I am guessing that PMF is Pacific Music Festival?

I think that it stands for the National Orchestral Institute.

I'm in Karr Kamp for sure. I applied to Wabass and will send a CD in for the 2nd session of Domaine. And there's always ISB for the summer (although its not really a festival).
