Virginia Symphony--

Greetings!

Does anyone know anything of the bassist Christopher White (Obviously in the VA Symphony)? I'm going to be one of his students in the Fall at Old Dominion University and I wondering if anyone knew of his teaching style, etc.

Thanks!

Thumbs up Re: Chris White

Hey,

I'm mostly a lurker around these parts, but I'm a Norfolk native, so I'll speak up about Chris. He's a great guy, as well as being a great bass player. Very musical. He plays German - don't know what you play from your profile.
If you have any other questions, feel free to pm me.

Hope this helps,

Dan Tice

Yep.. I'm a german grip player, hence why I chose ODU and Mr. White

Is he still teaching at ODU? the Virginia Symphony website says that Mr. Harris now has that job.. strange.. I hope that isnt true!

2 minutes of surfing will tell you that Scott Harris has been principal of the Virginia Symphony for a long time. Website says 1991. Chris White is number 2, again according to the website. ODU's website has Chris White listed as teaching bass.
