Bass For Sale with photos instead of subject

Is it possible to have, instead of or in addition to the flat "for sale" section, a showroom style "Basses For Sale" area? I am suggesting something like the BassNW.com showroom were one can scroll down the page and see the instruments first without clicking on the links. I think that this would make the section much more interesting to look at and possibly sell more basses? Can you turn on permission to insert images in the Subject line?

Secondly, how about requiring location in the subject of "Amps for sale" section. Some guys already do this but since Cabs are so heavy; local pickup makes a lot sense. Once again possibly leading to more sales. I think it wouldn't be a bad idea for all "For Sale" items to list locale. I know a Lefty Fodera in Portland, Oregon sounds a lot more interesting than one in London.

As always, FWIW!

In Montana they have signs over bars that say,"Before engaging your mouth, make sure your mind is in gear!"

Good suggestions - as is Superbassman's suggestion for a distance search capability. but all would require moving the Classifieds "out" of TalkBass - since we're all based on a specific bulletin board software here (vbulletin), in order to do distance searches, product showcases, etc etc we'd have to not use the forum backend and go to something else, written specifically for these purposes. I did a test run of something like this a while back, and it failed - I assume because it was so different than the forum interface, users just preferred what they were used to.

I think users should be "encouraged" to list the location in the thread titles especially heavy items. I'm not sure requiring (moderating) threads to force location would be taken very well...

Strongly suggesting works for me! I think it would sell more gear. In fact, I think people might be shocked how much more interest would be shown.

I tried using the same [Image] tags in the subject line but they obviously failed. It seems like it wouldn't take much to allow an image of some reasonable size in the subject line. Since there is currently a line of code (or two) preventing images, it would appear. Remove that code and use the code that allows the creation of an avatar, with size modification, and voila! Yeah, yeah, I know 27 attempts, GAS of the wrong kind and several crashes later.

Maybe you could strongly suggest they add something like this in the next version. Seems brain dead they don't have a photo gallery. FWIW

Thanks for listening!
