The "pay it forward" (PIF...which is funny because PIF is a system at my job, and I cringe when I write it because it makes me feel like I'm working even when I'm here...) thread lead to some mention of starting a "free with shipping" thread -- for straight-up giveaways when folks are clearing out stuff. Could folks answer this poll -- if there's enough potential activity, the mods could set something up.
So the poll says forum or thread -- if the activity was low, you could just have people post to a single thread in, say, Hot Deals, or Accessories, etc. Or you could set up a full forum in the Classifieds section. If a forum, I suggest you leave it open to non-supporting people since they'd be giving stuff away.

I don't think we need a whole new forum for it. I've given some stuff away over the years, so I just open a thread in FS and do it. Besides, if you create a separate forum, you'll get a whole audience of leeches looking for free stuff. I bet we would make it to FatWallet or another site like that advertising our "hot deals". No thanks.

All this free stuff would wind up on ebay. | That, I think, is a reason keeping it in one thread might be ideal -- it might be easier to track down if someone is continually taking stuff and reselling it.
The "pay it forward" thread got people talking about it, so I figured I'd just throw out a poll -- if there was a TON of interest, a forum might be in order. If there's not much, then the existing forums are probably fine.
It's the same idea as the Freecycle groups that are set up in different cities.
