To many stickies in OT! GTG sub-forum?

There are a truckload of stickies in the OT forum at the moment and most of them are about get togethers. Perhaps we could have a GTG sub forum / forum where all the GTGs can be organised discussed etc as all these stickies are only relevant to small areas of the TB population and IMO make it difficult for newbies to read the important ones (ie the forum rules).

Actually I think there are too many stickies everywhere on the site.
Some have been here for ages.
Stickies are useful, say, during the first week.
After that they lose their impact and just take room at the top of the page and should just join general FAQ/rules/whatever.

Stickies are there to help newbies learn what is tolerated in certain forums, and what isn't. If all stickies were removed and placed in a FAQ page somewhere, how many new members would actually take the the time to find, and read them before posting?

In this case, a single permanent sticky at the top of the forum is enough.
You don't need 5 of them with 5 different rules.
