Hey Paul... do you think we could get some more ranks on TB? You know, like when you get 100 posts you get a certain rank and when you get to 500 or 1000 you get a different one... maybe when someone gets to 5000 they could get the rank "John Turner"...
If this encourages any of those freebie post threads (which would make sense) then you can just delete the thread and punish whoever was trying to waste bandwidth by banning them temporarily or something along those lines.
This is a cool new forum, BTW! |

Paul removed them to prevent users from posting useless messages just to get a higher rank.
I think it's ok the way it is now.

maybe make it a perk to being a supporting member.

Sorry, the freebie posting was just too excessive when new members saw the need to "climb up" to member status.
John - that's a good idea. We can definitely do post counts for supporting members.

Having to go through and delete all those threads would be rather draining task for the already hard working moderators. I guarantee, if you just post when you need to or when you have something to add, and don't worry so much about "talkbass status", you'll find they aren't very necessary.
By the way Paul, I like the idea of these new forums. Good call! |

I like the new forum ya have here Paul.

And I like adding post counts to Supporting members. That would give people who are concerned about such things some incentive to send money in!

It may display TB seniority, but it doesn't tell you much. Some members with 5 posts to their name are more helpful and make more sense than some that have 500. |

But who's counting? | I've accepted my said pathetic lot in life. And besides, don't go bringing logic into online discussions, thank you very much. |

i think we should use different shapes and insingias* for different accomplishments.

i think we should use different shapes and insingias* for different accomplishments. | how can anyone measure things like that? also, how to verify it?
nice idea but i guess it will lead to fights and unfairness trials and eventually total chaos
besides, we already know who those "respected" members are
