Warning users that a thread is more than "x" months old prior to posting

Is it possible to implement a feature prior to posting in a thread that is (let's say) 6+ months old to warn the particular user that it is a dated discussion?

Thread resurrections are common in the basses forum (typically) by newer users that do not realize the thread was incredibly old.

Send a message via MSN to Peter Squire
Only point is that this may lead them to start a new topic about something that they perhaps should have searched for and read through before making a new topic.

I see nothing wrong with posting to an old thread...in fact I have seen many old threads resurected and then receive another twenty or thirty new posts

Bumping an old thread is infinitely better than starting a new one as far as I'm concerned.

When searching, I'd rather read 10 threads on Benaventes with 100 replies each than 100 threads with 10 replies.

I search daily.

Math is fun.
