I'm sure this isn't the case, but wanted you to be aware this was posted on another website

Cookie Alert ...
<HR SIZE=1>For what it's worth, when I logged into the "Pit" this afternoon my computer intercepted an unsolicited cookie from Talkbass. Looks like they are trying to hook in on Dudepit users ..

If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to serve as a horrible warning.

As I cuddled the porcupine he said I had none to blame, but me.

I must admit I don't know how this is possible.... the user logged into the Pit, and something comes up saying TalkBass is trying to write a cookie? How could that be?

Oh, I think I may have a guess - some users on the Pit reference an avatar from TalkBass, using a URL ending in /forum/avatar.php etc. Indeed, looking at the webserver's log file, the #1 site for off-site linking of images from TalkBass is the Pit. Any call to a script in the "forum" directory will set a 'last visited cookie' I think. All TalkBass runs is a standard VBulletin Board install... I don't know much about cookies but I know that you can view all the TalkBass VBulletin cookies set on your system by going to this URL:

This is all much ado about nothing. Paul's guess seems to be the most likely scenario.
