Black Betty (Ram Jam) - NEED HELP

Sign in to disble this ad
I need to find a computer program that can slow this song down but keep the right pitch. Having alot of problems learning the solo part. (Really fast bass part).

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

PS...I hope I put this in the proper thread, if not please feel free to move it.

If you aren't real good at picking out bass lines & don't have a guitar bud to quickly show 'em to you to you-do what I did. Drop the dough and get a Tascam MP-BT1. It will loop it & slow it down, keeping it in pitch. You gotta convert you're tunes to mp3 but it'll store a bunch of 'em and you'll pick out songs you never attempted before. I know I did. The built in effects are decent for bass playback but the real benefit is the slowing down and looping in key. Black Betty?-you'll be firing off Steve Harris in no time!

I was kinda hoping that someone would say that I could do that same with Adobe Audition 3.0. I looked into the Tascam a while back, but I have to be watch my spending nowadays.

Thanks for the reply. Bassmasta was the first place I looked. I just need help with the solo part. I want to practice it slower and then build up to the proper tempo.

You may want to try this:

It's free - I use it - it works.

I would also say Audacity does a pretty good job of time stretching. Of course with audacity you can also make other adjustments to the track with various filters to help you get what you need.

I can recommend the 'Amazing Slow Downer' - does just what it says. You can control the speed and keep the pitch. There's even a free demo - AND it's for Mac and PC. Well worth buying too though...
