Cover tune suggestions for bassist/singer???

Hi, basically I'm not only the bassist for my band, but also the singer. We have a bunch of originals, but we are trying to do covers as well. So, far we are only doing "bad moon rising," and "five to one."

I'm trying to find songs where they are easy to play and figure out on the bass. And it's possible for me to sing and play them at the same time. So, far I'm finding that I have to do one of the following to sing and play at the same time.

1. sing in between parts.
2. sing right along with parts, right on the note.
3. or at least have the bass line be simple enough that I can marry some of the words sung to some of the notes.

So, as you can see I can't do anything really busy or complicated just yet, while I'm singing.

So, can some bassist/singers throw some ideas for covers at me please.

We are a rock/metal band. We are not adverse to playing anything classic or on the newer side, just as long as it's something we'll get some milage out of. Please list band as well as song.

Aerials - System of a Down, Bass line is UTTERLY simple and is a basic harmony with the vocals during the chorus.
