Anyone got tab for this? I can't use Ultimate-Guitar due to an IP ban (nothing to do with me, but some idiot on the same server as me got the IP banned so I can't get on).
Any help?

That's from a powertab transcription I made of the tune. I'm 90% sure it's spot on. If anyone knows otherwise then let me know!

*throws e-tantrum* | Well you gotta develop an ear someday, or you have no chance as a bassist. You all can flame me if you want, aand sure there are deaf musicians, I understand that, but I don't think you are deaf, are you? You have to have some sense of tone / intonation, especially since you play fretless, iirc. I mean come on.

Tune your bass to standard, sit there with your bass and a recording of the song and emulate what you hear. Match tones. Work through it. rewind. go back and listen and play along. develop your ear. It's rewarding. That cannot be a new concept to you. I cannot possibly be the first person to suggest this to you...you've been playing how long?

It's interesting, but when I joined a cover band a couple years ago it was the first time I used tabs. Many were wrong or slightly off but easy to correct. Tabs are a crutch and useful when you need to learn a lot of stuff quickly, but since I'm currently into a lot of music that isn't popular enough to have tabs, I've been forced into learning stuff by ear again.
And it's making me a better player in a number of ways.
Anyone who says they can't learn by ear just means they haven't put in the time to train themselves to do it. It's a slow process at first but it gets easier. |

Post 7 has what looks to be correct music (my band is doing a dub version of this) for the whole song. What else is there?
Even though the guitar changes it's progression at the chorus the bass plays basically the same thing, droning on the low E before going A to D to the octave up E. |

A bit of a push to get your ears going, stop being so sensitive. Believe it or not, I have good intentions by not making it easy for you.

How long have you been playing? I have for longer than I can remember, but ear training seems pretty elementary to me. Numerous songs (well, the easy rock crap) I can listen to and know how to play without even picking an instrument up.

Yup - agree 100% - like most things to do with music - it takes time and effort and there are no short cuts!
The sooner you get started, the better!

In any event, a decent tab has already been posted, so I'll stop preaching. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
