check out '70s funk and disco bass' by josquin des pres, its all finger work, not slap but has some nifty stuff in it! : http://www.halleonard.com/item_detai...keywords=funk+

if its slap your after, check out 'slap tecnique by stephan richter' : http://www.learntoplaymusic.com/

erk, pesky frames caused me to link to the site rather than the page. click bass and work from there to find it

Talking fo tower of power, check out 'squib cakes', i recently found it (standard notation form) and that didnt take long at all to learn and is nifty sounding and provides a good work out. Ill try and find it online, and if you cant read standard notaion too well ill tab-it in my spare time if ya like

Well for me, funk is all about a rhythmic feel or syncopation - subdividing the bar - and is something that doesn't get captured by tabs alone.

Just playing the right notes but without that feel, is not funky!

What Bruce said....the essence of funk will not be found in any tabs or musical notation. Listen and play....it will come with time. Now for my standard recommendation: Go buy The Best of the Meters and start there.

Standing in the Shadows of Motown. Buy it, live it, be it.
