im playing give me novacaine by green day.

having problems with the guitar solo, the tab im reading goes like this:

-4-4-4-4
-4-4-4-4
-2-2-2-2

it continues like that...

1.is this correct?
2.how do i play that?

Are you transcribing a bass solo or a guitar solo?

In whichever case, when you have two or more fret numbers on top of each other like you have above, you're supposed to play them at the same time like you would a chord. 2 - 4 - 4 in this instance is an F# barre chord.

those are just power chords. play the 2 4 4 all together. if the 2 is on the E string, then play that and 4 on the A string and 4 on the D string. i have no idea if ur tab is right for the solo tho
