Groove Is In The Heart - Help?

Hey I'm just wondering if this is the right fingering for the bass line in this video.

Groove is in the Heart - Played by some guy (35 sec long vid)
http://www.youtube.com/user/animotio...13/5nlfMy32N-Q

The guy didn't post the tabs so I tried figuring it out myself and came up with this.

G|------------------------|-----4-----6--4------------
D|---6--4-----6--4-------|--------6-------6---4-5-6--
A|--------6--------6--4--|---------------------------
E|----------------------- |---------------------------

I tried playing it and it sounds right to me, but I'm extremely new at bass and might have gotten it wrong. Also I had to watch it like 30 times to tab it lol.

I checked out tabs for it on other sites but they're all tabbed different and sound different than the way he plays it in the video. Any help would be very awesome.

Hi NinjaPred,

You have it right in your first post, but tab doesn't indicate the timing.

The last chromatic ascending run is made of eighth notes with the same timing as the notes that proceed the run, not a triplet like in the BringDownTheBirds pdf file or 2 sixteenths and an eighth like the second post.

Anyone got ideas how to nail the sound on this track ? I'm not getting close enough, is it double-tracked, bass and guitar or something ?

Octave pedal. Possibly a MuTron.

Wow... I was way off on this one. I've never actually tried to play it before, but I would have guess it was something more like(using the key of the OP):

G|------------------------|----4---6---------------
D|------4--6--4-----------|-------------4-5-6------
A|--------6-------6--4---|------------------------
E|----4-------------------|------------------------

That first note really sound an octave lower to me. And I had never noticed those G# s in the 2nd bar....

I was just looking at the notes with Transcribe!
I believe you are correct on the first note being an octave lower.
And the G# is definitely there.

That bass line was taken from this song.

Herbie Hancock - Bring Down The Birds
(from the Blow Up movie soundtrack)

Everyone seems to be somewhat unsure of the last 3 notes. There are several other youtube videos where they other do something that sounds wrong to me, or they do like he said: "Somethings going on here, I'm not sure what it is. I know that's right, but I'm not entirely sure what it is"
I've seen it as 3-4-5, or even just 4--6, all with various combinations of hammer-ons and regular.
But I do feel that's the closest.

Ending to Groove is in the Heart.

Has anyone worked out the last bar to this from the Dee Lite version.....I just can't figure it out and it's driving me mad. Might it be played on a fretless...?

One of my mates reckons it's not someone playing a different sequence, but the same one played at slower speeds to make it go off the way it does.
