Help with Morphine - Wishing Well

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey TB, I ask for your help

Got addicted to Morphine recently. Now it`s getting better, but the first few days people got annoyed of my playlist

So, I`m trying to transcribe "Wishing Well" from "Like Swimming" album, and while the melody itself is pretty easy to pick up (a few chromatic runs in A) I have a hard time figuring how Mark Sandman does it. I know he used a slide and had just two string which means there aren`t many different notes you can play at the same time. But on the track you can clearly hear a distinctive bass line playing behind the melody and it seems that it`s a double bass. Mind explodes.

So, I need your help. Just he both the strings to A one octavev apart? Just he just hired an upright bassist to play on the track? Is this just a sign of how awesome Morphine are?

Thanks in advance,
Clayman.
