Help! Need White Lion "Wait" tab!

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an audition tommorrow with a hard rock band and this is one of the tunes they chose. I think mostly to see how my backup vocals are but for the life of me I can't figure out what the bass is doing in this song!

The recording I have is pretty poor which doesnt help. Also, The bass is buried under a bunch of guitar layers as well.

I saved this song for last because I thought it would be the simple. Google searches just bring up the same lame guitar tab on every site.

anyone have a tab? Thanks

Odds are if you can't hear the bass neither can they.
Just ride 8th note roots and follow the guitar chords. You'll be fine.

I'm listening to it now. It's not your recording--the bass all but disappears once the verse kicks in. lol.

It does sound like he's just playing eighth note roots, though. But don't trust me. I have horrible ears.

Thanks for the replies.

I can't even figure out the root notes LOL.

The beginning stops when the band kicks in are A's then D's?

I have the verse as A, G, F#,then F. The next part goes to a B (I think, plus other notes), then the course is in D but there are also other root notes I can't figure out.

Anybody have anything to add to this?

Thanks

I'm guessing that if they are playing White Lion with any accuracy at all, they probably have a smokin' guitarist. I used to play this song, it isn't tough. If you can't pick it out by ear, you probably shouldn't be going to the audition. Not trying to be mean, but it isn't a tough song.

Yes you are.

OK now that you established your superiority I mentioned I had a very poor recording... A very crappy MP3 that is low volume with no bass, may be detuned as well. Can't find any thing else right now.

I might add that they gave me two other tunes. Sweet Child of Mine and Cult of Personality, both of which I learned by ear and can play effortlessly.

I think go to the mall tommorrow and see if I can pick up this CD.

Did you figure it out?

Hi Vlad

I need to figure out Wait too.
I can hear a little bit of bass under the guitar solo but I can't hear it at all for most of the song.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

You're correct..."Wait" has a very crappy bass recording

Vlad,
Hey bro...don't listen to these other schnazzberries. You're 100% right. "Wait", has a terrible bass recording under it all. It all but disappears once the song kicks in.
Why?
Their guitarist,Vito Bratta,Back in the day, he was an exceptionally magnificant guitarist and the producers focused on his guitar playing and Mike Tramps vocals.
Although the song is,in fact,an easy song to play, trying to hear the bass...forget it.
Do this instead....do a search on the guitar "chords", then follow that and lay down a simple bass line to it.
As long as you keep in time and rythym, you'll do fine.
I know bassist's that have been playing for decades, and they can't even hear the bass notes in the song.
These schnazzberries that replied to you saying that it's "all so simple",ask them to give you the bass notes if it's so simple. Right?
Peace!
