I need a Better Bassline for a song? (non tab)

Help! Can anyone suggest a better way of playing Sha La La La Lee by the Small Faces rather than just the root notes as on the original? Im finding it a bit tricky - quick chord changes etc.. I'd like to play it with a bit of 'bounce'!?!?

Any help would be appreciated - Im not feeling too inventive with this one!!!!
